So we finally sold our Komatsu SK820-5n skid, which by the way was a great machine with good specs, and bought a JD 318D with 205 hours on it. It was purchased new by a small town near us to snowblow sidewalks and the occasional summer pothole repair. Hi, I'm looking into buying my first skid steer and don't really know much about them. I found a 2007 Komatsu SK1020 with just under 1000 hours, and he is asking k for it. He claims it has no leaks and runs excellent. It also comes with a quick detach bucket. That works in an excavator. It does not work in skid steer. The result is anemic wheel torque and bucket breakout that was about 1/3 everyone elses. It is a great concept however if you work you machine hard you will not be happy with the performance. There are those that don't need a skid steer for that purpose.
