I came across what seems to be a pretty good deal on a Scat Trak Skid Steer and I'm not to familiar with their reputation. The machine is a 1996 1300C. I do know that they were bought out by volvo in 2001 I believe. While scat has never been in the forefront of skid steer sales , or coming up with new innovative designs, they are exceptionally well built and rugged machines (before the 2001 model year in my opinion). look at the size of the pins and bushings, the twin tilt cylinder on the boom, the guage of the material in the boom construction, this might . They both have their places but for heavy "bull work", ease of maintainance, inital cost, and reliability, I'll take the Poo Trak any day. My Skat Trak 1500 D Turbo Skid Steer.. It has a Kubota Diesel, and over built .. I have had this machine on my farm now for like 12 years. I replaces Control Cables, and one wheel Bearing since I had it. It just keep going. Still has same used battery in it .Key features of the skid steer loaders include liquid-cooled diesel powered engines, forward tilting ROPS/FOPS cabs, superior access to all key components, available high auxiliary hydraulic flow, and a wide variety of available options and attachments.
