I'd go tracks for any grading, you get a lot more area on the ground to keep ya stable. I don't even rent the wheeled ones anymore. Traction limited, bouncy, tougher to grade with. The over the tire tracks are interesting but you still have potentially flats to deal with, and the wheelbase remains about the same.

I have used a Cat 236B skid steer that had over the tires track for over 2000 Hrs and the chains were still good. Of course the oils were changed on schedule and the tracks not kept too tight. Some other skid steers have broken chains that were small for . The VTS system will have much more traction on slippery surfaces then any tracks over tires will. The VTS system applies more even weight distribution. With the Track over tires the tracks between the tires have no weight pushing them down on the ground so that part of the track is not as useful as the parts that are under the tires.
