1. Jun 21, 2013. #2. I was moving bales yesterday, everything was working fine. These bales are 1700 to 1800 lbs each. Unloaded a load, then went 1/2 mile to next field, boom will lift and tilt empty, but as soon as you try to lift a bale, it won't lift. Hydraulic oil level is where it should be, and I changed the filter, but that didn't work.

When we first acquired the skid steer we had this issue and were able to track it down to the alternator having been rewired incorrectly. It was not charging the battery. We would jumper the machine to get it started which put a brief charge on the battery and by doing so would bring the battery voltage above 12 volts.

He has attempted to back out the bolt and drive the sleeve out with no success. The local JD dealer said he'd have to cut the sleeve out. I'm in Tennessee and cannot help out. John Deere recommended pulling the engine to fix and put in a updated "spring pin". The tech was able to do it by just raising the engine instead of unhooking everything and pulling it, but it was still a pretty big job.
