Hi, looking at a 2002 John Deere 260 skidsteer this weekend and wanted to get some opinions and thoughts. It is a well used 2 speed machine with almost 6000 hours, but the owner claims no leaks (which I will verify in person), the two drive motors, aux pump and lots of seals have been replaced along with new pins and bushings in the bucket.
Later we talked to a local equipment jockey who sells a lot of skid loaders and he said the cabs on those loaders are poorly grounded and you can help these types of things by running a ground wire from the frame to the cab. I forget the details on where exactly to connect it, but I think up around the instrument cluster somewhere. Good luck.
It just needs to be adjusted. Third time on mine. If you leave the throttle up to full speed it will not happen, you just have to listen to it and if your trying to have a conversation it sucks. I think my deere dealer here in MN charges any where from 150 for an adjustment to 350 for adjutment plus a spring or roller but just guessing.
