I'm not saying that Cat is the best, but Bobcat definitely is not anymore, Takeuchi's are very powerful machines, it takes sometime to get used to their pilot controls, but they will eat a Bobcat alive. Based on availability of local support, cost and financing, I've narrowed the field to include the Cat 299C, Bobcat T320, and Takeuchi TL250. The selected machine will include the manufacturer's forestry cab options, with sealed operator compartment and A/C, hydraulic quick connect and high-flow pump. #1. The contractor I do most of my repair work for is considering switching from Bobcat equipment (track loaders and excavators) to Takeuchi. He says the Takeuchi dealer told him their equipment was "more reliable and easier to work on as they didn't have computers". We're looking for a newer model used skid steer. Might be silly but this seems to matter to me. I think I would want the TL12 which is similar weight and power wise to the T870 sorta. Difficult to decide whose specs are right vs whose are inflated? Dealer support is about the same both are 15 minutes from my land.
